The filming of the international blockbuster El Cid internationalized the city and, since then, many and varied productions have been shot here. Productions by filmmaker Luis G. Berlanga such as Calabuch or París Tombuctu, highly successful Spanish series such as El chiringuito de Pepe or El ministerio del tiempo and the international phenomenon on HBO, Game of Thrones, in which the city is the protagonist of the sixth season.
The City of Arts and Sciences, in the city of Valencia, has been the scene of filming for international series such as Doctor Who on BBC; HBO’s Westworld or National Geographic’s documentary series Cosmos. Series with a wide international tour have also been shot, such as El embarcadero, by Movistar + or the Disney blockbuster, Tomorrowland, with George Clooney.
